The Russian Helicopters holding plans to organize together with the Iranian company Iran Helicopter Support & Renewal Company (PANHA) an aftersales service of domestic rotary-wing Mi-8/17 aircrafts on the basis of the aircraft repair plant belonging to it. The holding has held the corresponding negotiations with the Iranian side at an exhibition “Commerce and industry dialogue: Russia — Iran 2015”.
The agreement on carrying out technical expertize of the Iranian plant became a result of a meeting with representatives of PANHA. According to the CEO of the Russian holding Alexander Mikheyev, soon to Iran will send 35 specialists who will be engaged in an assessment of technological processes of repair of Mi rotary-wing aircrafts.
The parties have to prepare the plan of retrofitting of plant within which “Russian Helicopters” will also put components and technical documentation for repair. Besides, the holding will train the Iranian specialists, and also will organize authorization and certification of the enterprise. It is supposed that at plant all types of works up to a major repair will be carried out.
The holding also intend to expand possibilities of the service center PANHA located on the island Kish (Persian Gulf). Further he will be able to perform scheduled works, to carry out minor and running repair of damages, to eliminate faults and to carry out completion according to service bulletins of Mi-8/17 helicopters.
In “Russian Helicopters” emphasize that creation of system of an aftersales service of domestic helicopter equipment in all regions of the world is one of its key tasks for today. In the countries of the Middle East more than 500 civil and military rotary-wing aircrafts of the Soviet and Russian production are operated in total. Their overhaul needs to be carried out each 1000–1200 h, scheduled works — each 100–500 h depending on type. An opportunity to carry out maintenance in the region will allow to save time and money for repair.
